What were your first words? If you have children, what were their first words?
My first word was "kitty cat." Yes, not only was it three syllables long but it's actually two words. I was 8 months old and apparently I was with my mother's friend and I pointed to a picture of a cat and said "ki ki ca" and my mother's friend flipped out and dragged my mom over and then showed me all these other pictures of cats. The way my mom tells it her friend was way more excited about it than she was.
My brother's first word was "grandpa." We were living with my mom's dad when my brother was adopted. It was so cute because my grandpa wasn't keen on the adoption idea but then once my brother actually showed up they were best friends. They'd take naps together. My grandpa died when I was in high school (and so my brother was about 10). It makes me tear up a bit thinking about it.
What superpower would you most like to have?
Invisibility. The ability to be anywhere undetected would be beyond awesome. Practical application aside, I'd never have to buy a movie or concert ticket again. I could probably sneak aboard airplanes, too, so I could easily travel anywhere. I wouldn't have to use my identity theft plan to travel to the places where I want to go!*
I would also be able to realize my lifelong dream of being a spy. The CIA wouldn't be able to help but hire someone who could become invisible!
Random, Off-Topic Question:
Do people who live outside the US and speak English find US accents sexy? I've never heard "sexy American accent" said anywhere. But then again I live in America. Can non-Americans identify different accents we have here, like Southern or Minnesotan? I can identify a few different accents from England, but that's only because I'm highly trained.
Have you ever broken a bone? If so, how?
I've never broken a bone, but I have cut a few nerves. In second grade my parents had come home from a night out and the babysitter was still there and I decided to run upstairs to get my baby doll. My mom worked at home doing cutting/pasting work for books (this was before computers were used) and she'd left her t-square on the stairs. As I was running up I slipped and my hand must have caught on the t-square.
At first, I didn't feel any pain but saw a drop of blood on the t-square. I looked at my hand and saw these huge cuts. My fingers could bend back further than usual and these cuts opened up and blood was gushing out. That's when it began to hurt, and of course I screamed. My parents wrapped my hand in towels and I had to hold it in a bowl and we went to the hospital, where I had stitches and got a cast on my arm.
They did x-rays and determined my nerves had been cut so I had to have surgery, which I still remember--I was actually pretty excited about the whole thing. Since I'd cut my right hand, I had to re-learn how to write and eat with my left hand. Today, I write like a left-handed person with my right hand. I also cannot bend the top joint on my pinkie voluntarily even though I'd gone through a lot of occupational therapy.
It's my own personal "war wound."
How do you know when a relationship has run its course and it's time to call it quits?
That's the problem, I don't know! I don't know! How am I supposed to know? I've never ended a relationship before!
I don't know!
What is your weirdest pet peeve?

Everything must be very specific in order for me to sleep. First of all, I have to have a sheet on me at all times, regardless of the heat. The sheet must be tucked into the mattress and it must be covering both my shoulders at all times. I love hotel beds for the way the sheets are so severely tucked in. The pillow has to be down or at least I have to be somewhat able to change it's shape because I need just the right amount of pressure between my arm and my ear. I want to feel it, but I don't want it to hurt. I can't have any random or repetitive noises (I loathe crickets). I can't even have people typing in the room, so living in the dorms was a nightmare, except I couldn't sleep! I do like white noise as long as it is a low enough frequency. My hair has to be back away from my face and off my neck. It has to be dark.
There are more requirements, but I probably wont think of them until I'm lying in bed tonight.
If you could ask the person you like three questions, what would they be?
